PC gamers are able to upgrade their graphics card, while console gamers have been limited by locked hardware. Not anymore!

The mClassic is here to be the first add-on graphics processor for video game consoles. It is like having a new “graphics card”, without the hassle of modifying your game console.

  • 4K/1440p UP-SCALING: We upscale half a million pixels to 2 million pixels (SD to HD), 2 million to 8 million (HD to 4K Cinema), no compromises on color processing. Result is cleanest, clearest image for both modern, legacy content.
  • ANTI-ALIASING: On TV images shimmer or appear “jaggy” looking like stairs from square pixels trying to create a curve. Our algorithm fixes sharp edges and textures to show images as they should appear. The mClassic solves the problem.
  • DEPTH OF FIELD: Photographers make a “wow factor” to images by shooting shallow depth. The mClassic's algorithm performs this automatically thus refocusing spots and focusing others into a lovely blur creating the best possible picture.
  • IMAGE SHARPENING: Graphics processors focus “sharpness” or “naturalness”. The mClassic creates a perfect balance.
  • NO LAG: The mClassic graphics post-processor analyzes and improves every single pixel for the most beautiful image with no-lag.
  • ENHANCE ALL YOUR GAMES BEYOND HD: mClassic is the world’s first plug-and-play graphics card that boosts your game console’s graphics in real-time to produce sharp and beautiful picture quality. Finely redraws and enhances images pixel-by-pixel for better gaming. The graphics upgrade you never knew you needed.
  • COMPATIBILITY: Works with Nintendo Switch, Retro Consoles equipped with HDMI adapters (Original Xbox and PlayStation, GameCube, PS2, Wii, DreamCast), PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and many more. Choose from one of three modes: Scaling OFF, Scaling ON or Retro Games.
  • HOW IT WORKS: Insert mClassic into the HDMI port on your game console or dock, and connect the other end to your TV or monitor with an HDMI cable. Our patented graphics post-processor technology dynamically enhances video quality with effectively no lag.
  • UNCOMPROMISING PICTURE QUALITY: 1440p graphics & 4K movie up-scaling for supported monitors. Depth of field processing, contextual sharpening for clean and clear images, and anti-aliasing (CxAA) for removing jaggies and shimmers on a range of modern and legacy video and game content. 4K Image Certified by Technicolor.
  • YOU NEVER KNEW YOU NEEDED IT: Crowdfunded on Indiegogo by thousands of backers, the mClassic is a revolutionary product that does an excellent job of filtering out flaws, giving you stunning visual perfection that you never experienced before. Praised by CNET, PCMag, VentureBeat, Digital Foundry, T3, Wulff Den, Nintendrew, and many more!

An interesting upscaler but don’t set your expectations too high

Posted by Owen on Jan 12th 2023

First off: I was disappointed to discover that the MClassic’s 1440p mode will not work if your display’s EDID doesn’t advertise 1440p as a supported resolution. For some reason LG’s 4K OLEDs do *not* do this, so you can forget about the 1440p mode on those displays. I wish there was just an additional switch on the MClassic or something to set resolution instead of relying on the TV’s EDID. If the 1440p mode is important to you, make sure to research and find out if it will actually work with your display. Even if your display does support 1440p, that’s still no guarantee that the MClassic will actually run in 1440p.

The actual upscaling that happens here is generally mild. Using a lower-res source (like 480p) can yield a “better” upscale, but it may appear smudgy. The gains become less noticeable the higher your input res. 720p sees some small improvements depending on the game, and jaggies at 1080p get partially smoothed out. It definitely flavors the image in a way that could be perceived as slightly better, but I think it just comes down to preference. Using the MClassic definitely isn’t going to be a transformative magic bullet - it works better with some resolutions/games, the gains are minor with others, and with some it can even be detrimental (like sprite-based 2D games).

Overall, I wouldn’t buy the MClassic at full MSRP - if it’s something you feel like you must have, definitely wait for a sale as I don’t think the result is worth the full cost.

    MClassic

This is a must have if you have retro consoles setup to play on an HD tv. It vastly improves the quality by upscaling your video signal properly. If you have retro consoles that already have hdmi mods on them, then the mclassic will take it to the next level.

    Gamecube Must Have

Paired with the Pluto HDMI mod on Gamecube this thing is amazing. One of my newer displays has issues detecting the output from the Pluto, this completely solved it and cleans up the image very well in progressive scan mode! Besides the compatibility, it just makes the games look MUCH better.

    Instant Remaster

This device works with any 480p signal and automatically upscales it to 1080/1440p depending on what your TV is capable of outputting. This makes any early 3D capable consoles like the PS1/Saturn/Dreamcast/Xbox/GameCube in particular look fantastic. I can't notice any added input lag either. It also has some sort of anti-aliasing effect which makes everything looks super smooth and less jagged. 2D consoles (especially like the Genesis or SNES which have native RGB out) looks really really clear and clean.

You need to have a 480p signal to take full advantage of this, so you'll need to use something like the OSSC or the Levelhike HDMI adapters to make that happen with certain consoles. I highly recommend this for anyone who has a 480p capable set up and enjoys older consoles.

Good add on for retro gaming and ps tv

Posted by Xiaoliang on Nov 18th 2021

I bought it together with super 64 and I love the result it delivers. Currently I am using it with my NGC, N64 and ps tv. The display looks beautiful on my TV compared to RCA cables. I'm playing PSP games again but on my TV this time. :) Recommended for retro gamers.

    Truly Impressive

Posted by Ross on Jul 23rd 2021

This little device is awesome. Makes the PS Vita look like current-gen consoles and does not introduce any input lag at all. I've got it connected to an HDMI switcher to upscale multiple sources without having to unplug anything.

I've tried this device with PSTV, Xbox 360, and the Sega Dreamcast and I'm happy with it.
